There are currently several methods for intelligent control and dimming:
1、 Leading edge phase control dimming
The principle is to adjust the conduction angle of each half wave of communication electricity to modify the sine waveform, thereby changing the communication current value and achieving the purpose of dimming. As a market leading dimming method, cutting-edge dimming has advantages such as high accuracy, small size, light weight, and easy remote operation. Most manufacturers' products are of this type. Frontier phase controlled dimmers generally use thyristor as a switching device, so they are also known as thyristor dimmers.
The advantage of a thyristor dimmer is that it has low dimming cost, is compatible with existing circuits, and does not require rewiring to control dimming along the tangent phase. The disadvantage is that the thyristor dimming function is poor, which generally leads to a reduction in dimming scale and the required load exceeding the rated power of a single or a small amount of LED lighting. Due to the properties of the thyristor half controlled switch, it only has the function of turning on the current, but cannot turn off the current. Even if it is adjusted to a low level, there is still weak current passing through. The characteristic of LED micro current luminescence makes it difficult to turn off the LED after using thyristor dimming.
2、 Rear edge tangential control dimming
The principle of the rear tangential dimmer is that it immediately conducts after the half wave of the communication voltage starts, and closes when the half wave voltage reaches the set conduction angle. The dimming purpose is achieved by adjusting the conduction angle.
The rear edge tangential dimmer is generally used as a switching device, consisting of a rear edge phase controller, an active switch, a zero crossing detection circuit, and an overload protection circuit. It can not only dim incandescent lamps, but also has good habits for electronic voltage loads, and can perform outstandingly in most situations.
Compared with the front tangential dimming device, the rear tangential dimming device has good matching theoretically due to its lack of low holding current requirements and handling of grid interference and noise. However, the internal circuit structure is relatively complex and the operating cost is relatively high.
